We toured the local(ish) honey-making store with our homeschool group. My kids are huge fans of honey and they were in heaven watching the little bees in their glass case and looking for the queen.
We had a little science lesson on queens, drones and worker bees. Everyone got to see how the honey was bottled, taste some flavored golden deliciousness (my favorite was cinnamon honey!) and ask as many questions as their little hearts desired.

It's so fun being able to see things work that you don't usually get to see!!
how fun!! i love watching your family!!
That looks like an awesome field trip! You guys do so many great things!
I have missed you SO SO SO much! I left Facebook last year some time and without that and blogging, I've not been keeping up with you lately. I'm slowly trying to start writing little notes again... more for posterity sake than anything. So if you'll just commit to once-per-week writings again, maybe we can hold one another accountable. LOL
By the way, we buy local honey and our next door neighbor is a bee keeper. She recently told me that she could take the kids out to her farm, dress them up in the whole get-up, and show them how she gets the honey from her bees. I think I may be more excited about all this than they are!
*hugs*
