Our Little "Tiggy Bank" is 5 months old!

I can't believe it's been 5 months since Teagan has been born! Her new nickname is "Tiggy Bank" because Roman accidentally (I hope) banged her head with tongs and there is a tiny little slit on the top of her head. "She looks like a piggy bank now!" Hali realized. So Jimmy started calling her Tiggy bank. She's definitely where we put all our stock in. She is such a sweet heart and is actually sleeping through the night now! We moved her out of our room (FINALLY) and now she sleeps so much better...and so do we!

VT handout

I'm such a copycat, I know. But I came across this idea from sugardoodle.net (I think) and knew I had to do it. I think they turned out pretty cute. Inside the 'shake' is bubble bath beads, the 'whipped cream' is a shower pouf. I added a pom-pom for the cherry and stuck a straw in. Voila! To quote my 11th grade math teacher, "Easy as fishin'!" (but WAY less stinky!)

A Great Idea!

I was blog stalking(well, sort of) when I came across this great idea. It's a plastic shoe hanger (got mine at Wal-Mart for $6 something) and you organize all your crafty stuff in it. If you're like me and have a ton of glue, glitter, stickers, scissors, etc. for your kiddy projects this is a super idea to put them where they won't get lost. I have tried bins, crates, and even a file cabinet but this is my favorite idea. I hung it on the inside of my pantry (which has a kid-proof door knob on it so Roman can't get too creative without me) and it's so much easier to see all my stuff. A great idea. Thought I'd share....

Leah goes to kindergarten!

Today was Leah's first day of school! She was so excited; she's been counting down for six months. Her teacher is Mr. Martinez, the same as Hali's kindergarten teacher. She practically kicked me out the door when I took her this morning. She kept saying, "Um, excuse me, Mom. Aren't you leaving?" I guess it's better to leave a child who is eager to stay than one who is clinging to your legs. She looked like such a big kid when she got off the bus. The first thing she told me was, "Mom! Did you know there are no seat belts on the bus?"

Trish Kilz the Poem Wall

So, I had to post the picture of my poem wall because it was time to paint over it. All that work...it was sorta sad to see it go. But, it's nice to have a fresh, clean look. For those of you who live far away, it was a poem I found from the Friend magazine about seven years ago and as soon as I read it I knew it had to go up on my wall. I stenciled each letter individually (don't know that I would do that again...hello vinyl letters!) but it was the centerpiece of our home for a long time.
