Reason #651 Why I Love Homeschooling

Schedule, Schedule, Schedule

Tell me this isn't a benefit! Siblings teaching eachother.

Cooperating. Getting Along (if only for 20 minutes!).

Experimenting new things. Magnifying our time together. Growing and learning with each other.

And the kids are not only safe--they are loving it as well!

Argh! I just wrote a FOREVER LONG comment and then my browser proceeded to shut down on me before I hit "send." I'll be back after I get the wee one down for a nap. But I love this post!!

Okay, back again. What I was trying to type earlier was that before we started homeschooling, I used to teach multi-age/looping in the public schools. My students were ages 5-8 (basically 1st and 2nd graders). The school district was HUGE (think around 30+ campuses) and they just wanted to try something "different" so they flew me and my partner to the multi-age/looping conference. It was so amazing...life changing in the way I thought about teaching and not just socializing students to same-age groups. When they moved up to 3rd grade, the new teachers commented that they could tell the difference in a multi-age student and traditional classroom student because the MA group were far more confident. They enjoyed re-teaching concepts to other students and were willing to try new and different things. Amazing! Who knew the system would try out homeschooling concepts in the public schools? ;)

Okay, that's all. And I'm going to hit "publish" before this disappears again.

HUGS!
